Designed by Bohumil Landsman for Jitona in Czechoslovakia during the 1960s, this sideboard embodies mid-century modern principles through its precise construction and purposeful functionality. The body, crafted from oak and walnut veneer in a warm honey brown, features a striking, symmetrical grain pattern on the door fronts. The upper section houses a glazed display cabinet with a single shelf; the lower offers generous storage behind two doors. Splayed, tapered legs in solid beech elevate the piece, contributing to its airy silhouette. Decorative elements are minimal: discreet golden aluminum fittings complement the smooth satin finish, enhancing the depth and character of the wood. The construction is marked by seamless joints with minimal visible hardware, highlighting the craftsmanship. The sideboard has undergone comprehensive professional restoration; the surface has been stripped and finished with Danish oil by Rustins. The glass components are new and clear. Condition: fully restored, with no visible signs of wear.This sideboard channels the refined clarity of the 1960s, a time when design balanced function and visual harmony.
