ABOUT PRODUCTID 28241
This WK Möbel sideboard from the 1960s encapsulates the essence of German mid-century modernism. The body is crafted from teak veneer with a satin-matte finish, highlighting the wood’s natural, expressive grain. Its proportions are slender: 165 cm in length, 33 cm in depth, and 67 cm in height. The open interior is symmetrically divided into two sections, each featuring an adjustable shelf that emphasizes functionality and clarity of design. The top and sides are finished in subtly blue Formica, which under daylight reveals a cool undertone without overwhelming the warm brown of the wood. The entire piece is raised on four black, square-section steel legs, offering a striking yet restrained contrast to the teak veneer. The front is free from visible hardware, and the construction reflects the precision of German craftsmanship. Preserved in very good, restored condition – all elements retain their original character or have been expertly refreshed. In this sideboard, one hears the voice of the 1960s: an era when design favored clarity and practicality, with form serving everyday needs. The teak surface tells a story of domestic warmth, while the blue Formica accents evoke a spirit of experimentation with modern materials. Steel legs nod to the era’s industrial inspirations, and the whole ensemble seems to say: “I am here to unite function with order, without superfluous ornament.” This sideboard can serve as a primary storage piece in a living area, especially in spaces inspired by mid-century modern or German modernist aesthetics. It would work well alongside
