ABOUT PRODUCTID 9885
This small sideboard, designed by Kai Kristiansen for Feldballes Mobelfabrik, is a representative example of Danish mid-century modern design from the 1960s. Crafted from teak wood in a warm, medium-brown tone with a subtle reddish hue, it features a semi-matte, oiled finish that highlights the natural wood grain. The front is distinguished by vertically oriented veneer and sliding tambour doors that retract smoothly into the case, complemented by slender, vertical wooden handles. The piece stands on four tapered teak legs, splayed gently outward, lending a sense of visual lightness. Inside, shelves provide functional storage. The construction is precise, with sharply defined lines and edges, echoing Scandinavian minimalism. The sideboard is in excellent restored condition, with no visible damage or signs of wear, and has undergone comprehensive carpentry restoration and oiling. The form of this piece speaks in the quiet voice of its era: simplicity is paired with thoughtful function. The slender legs elevate the body as if the cabinet were gently hovering above the floor, while the tambour doors invite a discreet exploration of its interior
