ABOUT PRODUCTID 30233
Designed by Victor Wilkins for G-Plan in the 1960s, this sideboard exemplifies British mid-century modern furniture at its finest. The body is crafted from teak veneer in a warm, medium brown shade with a subtle reddish undertone, highlighting the intricate wood grain. Handles and the stretcher are carved from darker afromosia wood, providing a striking contrast against the lighter teak. The sideboard offers four drawers with elongated sculpted handles and four cabinet doors with matching carved pulls, all in a deeper wood tone. It stands on elegantly tapered legs joined by a gently curved stretcher, with softly rounded edges and balanced proportions characteristic of the era. The satin-matte finish accentuates the tactile smoothness and depth of the surface, while the overall silhouette remains low and elongated. The piece has undergone a thorough restoration, finished with Danish oil, and shows no visible signs of wear – all components, including legs and handles, are original and authentic. Its condition is excellent, following a comprehensive restoration. This sideboard echoes the calm assurance of the 1960s, a period when British design combined
