This vintage sideboard from 1950s Germany exemplifies classic mid-century modern design. The body features a warm, medium walnut veneer with a pronounced, natural wood grain, while the finish ranges from matte to satin, highlighting the wood’s structure without excess gloss. On the left, two wide cabinet doors are clad in vertically grained walnut veneer and fitted with small, round brass locks and handles, lending a discreet metallic accent. To the right, three open shelves, also in walnut veneer, provide space for display or storage. The piece stands on four slender, square-section black steel legs with a matte finish, lending lightness and a contemporary feel. The overall form is simple and geometric, with precise joinery and clean transitions characteristic of German craftsmanship of the era. The sideboard is in very good restored condition, with no visible signs of wear or patina. The hardware and legs appear original and consistent with the 1950s German style.
