This brutalist sideboard from 1960s/70s Germany is made entirely of wood, predominantly oak veneer. The front features hand-painted and sculpted geometric patterns in deep black and brown tones, producing a sophisticated three-dimensional effect. The body is low and rectangular, with a substantial, slightly overhanging beveled top edge that accentuates the piece's architectural presence. The finish ranges from matte to satin, highlighting the natural grain of the wood and enhancing the raw aesthetic. Original slim brass escutcheons and matching keys are found on each of the three central drawers and two side cabinet doors. The sideboard stands on understated square wooden feet. Inside, three functional drawers and two spacious cupboards with shelves offer ample storage. The construction reveals precise craftsmanship, with carefully joined components and seamless alignment of the relief pattern on the front.The raw silhouette and bold, graphic rhythm of the facade combine here with a sculptural quality.
