This Indian sideboard from the 1970s is a hand-painted piece crafted from solid wood. The fronts of the drawers, doors, and top are adorned with intricate, symmetrical floral and foliate motifs in a cool, muted turquoise-green with a matte, distressed finish, complemented by accents of ochre, mustard yellow, deep red, and soft pink. Each panel is framed by hand-painted borders in shades of red and ochre. The decorative details highlight the authentic character of the piece, further emphasized by round, aged metal ring pulls and hand-carved features in the scalloped lower apron and arched door panels. The sideboard offers six drawers and a spacious compartment closed by double doors with an internal shelf. Its construction is robust and stable, with visible hand-cut joints and artisanal craftsmanship. The surface shows intentional patina, areas of paint loss, and minor cracks—typical signs of age and use that enhance its authenticity.
