This Belgian sideboard from the 1960s is a quintessential example of mid-century modern design, constructed from teak wood in a warm, honey-toned finish with a soft matte surface. Measuring 248 cm in length and 78 cm in height, the piece balances generous proportions with a distinctly period-appropriate elegance. On the left, four drawers feature sleek, rectangular brushed metal handles, while two sliding doors are equipped with integrated wooden pulls. The right sliding door is accentuated by an inlaid ceramic artwork, depicting an array of bottles and glasses in vivid turquoise, orange, white, and red against a black background – a striking visual statement. The legs, slender and slightly splayed, taper to metal-capped feet, evoking the lightness and clarity characteristic of the era. The construction is defined by precise joinery and a focus on robust craftsmanship. The overall condition is very good, with only minor signs of use: a few light scratches and a small area of discoloration near the ceramic panel; all elements appear original and unrestored.
