ABOUT PRODUCTID 9462
The Sequence sideboard, designed by John Herbert for A.Younger Ltd. in 1968, exemplifies British mid-century modern design, combining slender lines with thoughtful functionality. The construction features solid and veneered teak wood in a warm brown hue with a subtle reddish undertone. Four central drawers and two side cabinets are equipped with sculpted, integrated handles, whose gently rounded edges emphasize the lightness of the form. The legs are slim, tapered, and subtly splayed outward, blending seamlessly into the body of the piece. The entire sideboard is finished in a satin Danish oil, highlighting the natural wood grain and the high quality of the material. Precise joinery and the absence of visible hardware are in keeping with the minimalist ethos of the 1960s. The sideboard has undergone comprehensive professional restoration and shows no signs of use – preserved in excellent condition. The Sequence sideboard carries the story of 1960s British elegance: balanced proportions, subtle detailing, and a pursuit of functional simplicity. The sculpted handles and rounded edges speak to a desire for harmony and lightness, while the teak’s warm tone evokes a sense of domestic tranquility from that era. This is a piece that seems to whisper of afternoon tea gatherings and family conversations, its restrained silhouette expressing respect for craftsmanship and material. The Sequence sideboard would
