ABOUT PRODUCTID 41889
This 1960s sideboard, designed by Hubert Nepožitek and Bohulim Landsman for the Czech brand Jitona, exemplifies the disciplined modernist approach of the era. The body is crafted from veneered wood in a warm walnut tone, highlighted by a glossy finish that accentuates the natural grain. The upper section features a mirrored back and a sliding door with a striking black surface, adorned with fine vertical gold lines. Handles and gently splayed legs are finished in matte black, creating a bold, graphic contrast and emphasizing the geometric silhouette. The construction displays precise joinery, softly rounded edges, and a functional storage layout characteristic of mid-century modern design. The sideboard is preserved in very good condition—surfaces are smooth and lustrous, free from visible signs of wear, with shelves and the mirror freshly replaced. This piece speaks to an era when functionality and elegance were interwoven with attention to detail. Modernism of the 1960s, as interpreted by Nepožitek and Landsman, is expressed in the play of light on the mirror, the rhythm of golden lines, and the harmony of materials that evoke the atmosphere of postwar Central Europe—thoughtful and subtly referencing the architecture of its time. The sideboard seems to whisper the story of minimalist yet inviting interiors, where every object had its place and the dialogue between wood, glass, and stark black accents was carefully orchestrated. The sideboard can serve as a focal point in a living or dining room, where its glossy front and mirrored panel catch daylight and add visual depth. It pairs well with upholstered armchairs of simple form, soft rugs in neutral colors, and a floor lamp with a minimalist silhouette. Surrounded by warm wood tones and clean-lined
