The HOKA cigarette case was produced in the 1930s by Hohmann & Katz in Pforzheim, a manufacturer known for precision German metalwork. Crafted from white brass (alpacca) and plated with silver, it features a cool, silvery tone highlighted by a soft satin sheen and subtle patina. The surface is decorated with hand-engraved vegetal motifs arranged in three vertical panels, separated by smooth, undecorated stripes. Balanced proportions, gently rounded corners, a slim profile, and the “HOKA ALPACCA” hallmark define its Art Deco style, with late Art Nouveau influences. The construction reveals meticulous hinge work and a discreet clasp along the right edge. The condition is very good, with only minor surface marks and natural patina visible. This cigarette case preserves the cool resonance of silver, holding echoes of past gestures and private rituals.
