ABOUT PRODUCTID 37033
This three-seat sofa, designed by Brockmann Petersen for Randers Møbelfabrik in Denmark in the 1970s, is a refined example of Scandinavian mid-century modern design. The structure is crafted from solid oak in a warm, honey-brown tone, finished with a matte oil-wax coating that accentuates the natural wood grain. The sofa stands on angled, slender legs and features smoothly contoured armrests, lending the piece a visually light and airy silhouette. Three separate seat and back cushions are upholstered in dark brown, matte leather with a subtle grain; deep button tufting divides each cushion into distinct sections, introducing a touch of classic elegance. The backrest is gently reclined for comfort, and the proportions are harmonious throughout. The wooden frame shows minor scratches and small dents consistent with authentic use, while the leather upholstery has been newly done in a vintage style. The sofa is preserved in very good condition. This piece echoes the spirit of Denmark in the 1970s, an era when Scandinavian modernism matured, drawing increasingly on local materials and moving away from imported exotics. The oak, highlighted by its matte finish, speaks of trust in native craftsmanship, while the deep button-tufted leather adds a layer of understated
