The DS44 sofa set by De Sede, crafted in Switzerland in the 1970s, comprises a two-seater and a three-seater sofa. Both pieces are upholstered in thick, genuine leather in a very light, cool-toned grey with a subtle beige undertone. The leather features a matte finish with a gentle, natural sheen and visible patina and creasing, characteristic of aged hide. Deep, vertical channel stitching across the seats, backs, and sides establishes a rhythmic, geometric motif, while the bold, rounded volumes and absence of visible legs reinforce the set’s monolithic, modernist identity. The backrests and armrests flow seamlessly into one another, forming a uniform, solid silhouette. Prominent seams serve both structural and decorative purposes.
