This spherical vase, designed by Rudolf Rosinek for the 'Barbara' Artistic Glassworks in Polanica Zdrój, exemplifies mature Polish glassmaking from the late 1970s and 1980s. Crafted from layered, mass-colored soda glass, the vase features a deep, lustrous burgundy red with a high-gloss, almost mirror-like finish. A wide, diagonal band in milky opalescent white with subtle yellowish undertones wraps around the body, creating a striking contrast and a sense of visual movement. The perfectly round, globe-like form is supported by a small, subtly raised base and a circular opening at the top. The harmonious proportions highlight the geometric purity of the design, with clear references to late modernism and Scandinavian glass traditions. The glass surface is uniformly smooth and glossy.
