ABOUT PRODUCTID 41843
The folding Beat Stool, designed by Yasu Sasamoto for Dulton in the 1970s, is a hallmark of Japanese design that seamlessly blends function and form. Its seat, crafted from painted steel in a cool, pastel blue with a glossy, mirror-like finish, takes on an organic, tractor-inspired contour, punctuated by three visible metal rivets that accentuate its industrial heritage. The highly polished, chrome-plated tripod base lends a sense of lightness and Space Age-modernity to the whole. A visible screw mechanism allows for smooth seat height adjustment (from 45 to 58 cm), and the entire stool can be folded flat for convenient storage. Each leg is capped with a grey rubber foot for stability and floor protection. The stool is in very good vintage condition – the seat retains its glossy blue tone with only minimal signs of use; the chrome base is meticulously polished and the mechanism operates smoothly. The Beat Stool echoes an era when design embraced bold experimentation with shape and color. Its distinctive silhouette bridges two worlds: the industrial coolness of metal and the soft, inviting lines of a gentle pastel. The spirit of the 1970s is evident, as Japanese designers sought new solutions by merging functionality with a playful aesthetic. The seat reflects light like a mirror, while the chrome base conjures images of modernist interiors where every detail mattered. This stool can be paired with a minimalist light wood desk, a glass console, or used
