The 'The Tooth' stool, designed by Philippe Starck for Xo in 2002, exemplifies contemporary design with a playful twist. Crafted from molded plastic in a uniform, cool medium grey with a matte finish, its surface subtly diffuses light, accentuating the piece’s sculptural qualities. It recalls the era when the lobby of London’s St Martin’s Lane Hotel was transformed into a surreal setting, filled with playful, oversized shapes.
