ABOUT PRODUCTID 38112
This sugar bowl and creamer set from the 'London' line, designed by Wincenty Potacki for the Ćmielów porcelain factory in 1962, stands as a refined example of Polish mid-century modern tableware. Both pieces are crafted from high-quality porcelain with smooth, highly polished surfaces. The dominant color is a deep, glossy black, contrasted by pure white bases and interiors. Elongated, oval white motifs outlined in gold are arranged vertically around the exterior, lending the set a disciplined, geometric rhythm. Gold accents grace the rims, the creamer’s handle, and the sugar bowl lid’s finial – all applied overglaze with a lustrous finish. Each element displays precise proportions and clean lines in the spirit of 1960s modernism. The set is preserved in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or discoloration, and the gilding remains complete and original. These porcelain vessels echo the voice of 1960s Poland—a time seeking harmony between functionality and ornament. The 'London' pattern speaks in the optimistic language of modernity: geometric motif, bold contrast, and gilded highlights recall an era when everyday rituals—serving coffee or tea—were elevated by design. The mirror-like black reflects light with restraint, while the regular rhythm of ovals introduces a subtle interplay
