ABOUT PRODUCTID 38255
The sugar bowl made by Bracia Henneberg in Warsaw during the 1930s is a mature example of interwar Art Deco. Its basket form stands confidently on four stylized, flared legs, crafted from silver-plated brass with a cool, matte finish. The wide, decorative handle features a floral relief that echoes the ornamental band encircling the body. Inside, a clear, cut crystal insert with geometric and botanical engravings adds lightness and a subtle brilliance. The proportions are balanced: a round body, dynamic arching handle, and decorative legs form a cohesive composition. The overall condition is very good – there is only a minor chip on the edge of the crystal insert, consistent with age and use. This sugar bowl echoes the voice of Warsaw Art Deco – the 1930s speak through the cool metal and clarity of the crystal. Bracia Henneberg's design celebrates modernity while expressing a deep appreciation for detail: the basket-like shape invites slow table rituals, and the faceted crystal scatters light across the surface, creating gentle reflections. Every relief, every curve of the handle tells a story of a time when function and ornament were inseparable – an era of gatherings, hospitality, and artisanal precision. The sugar bowl can be paired with porcelain featuring geometric or floral patterns to highlight the Art Deco dialogue between form and decoration. It will work well on a classic dining table and can also serve as a collector's accent in a modern interior. Consider combining it with other 1930s pieces – a silver-plated tray, glass stemware, or a Secessionist cake stand – to create a layered composition inspired by the culture of the interwar table.
