This Art Nouveau sugar bowl, produced by the renowned Szandrik manufactory in the Austro-Hungarian Empire (present-day Austria) between 1895 and 1910, exemplifies the masterful metalwork of its era. Crafted from brass plated with silver, it features a compact, cylindrical form measuring 10.5 × 10 × 10 cm. The bowl stands on four ornate, fluted legs, each topped with shell-like motifs that enhance its decorative appeal. The surface is richly guilloché-engraved with a reptile skin pattern, composed of irregular, polygonal divisions and flowing organic lines characteristic of Art Nouveau. The hinged lid, adorned with additional oval and circular accents, is crowned with a sculptural finial resembling a pine cone or stylized bud.
