This sugar bowl, marked by the German manufacturer WMF, was produced at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, exemplifying the mature Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) style. The body is crafted from white brass, silver-plated to a cool, silvery-white hue with a subtle warm undertone and a soft satin sheen. The interior is gold-plated, visible at the rim, lending a refined contrast to the silvery surface. Repoussé and engraved iris motifs flow across the body and lid, with organic lines and naturalistic floral forms that are emblematic of the period.
