ABOUT PRODUCTID 1707
This Art Nouveau sugar bowl, crafted by WMF in Germany around 1900, exemplifies refined craftsmanship at the turn of the 20th century. The bowl features a clear, cut crystal glass insert with a delicately scalloped rim, resting within a silver-plated brass mount that retains its original, excellently preserved finish. Four elegantly curved feet support the vessel, while two gracefully extended handles, ending in stylized floral buds, add a sense of fluidity and poise. The embossed cornflower motif on the silver-plated frame harmonizes with the undulating edge of the crystal glass, forming a coherent whole characteristic of Art Nouveau. The surface remains highly polished and reflective, with no signs of tarnish or wear. Its low, wide proportions (height: 7.6 cm, diameter: 10 cm, length with handles: 16 cm) and the detailed metalwork reflect a high standard of execution. Condition: excellent, with no visible traces of use, damage, or restoration. Within this sugar bowl resides the spirit of the Secession – an era when craftsmanship and everyday beauty intertwined
