ABOUT PRODUCTID 20061
This early 20th-century sugar bowl, crafted by Bracia Buch in Poland, is a fine example of Art Nouveau metalwork. Made from silver-plated brass, it features a cool, silvery tone with a subtly matte finish. The body is adorned with flowing, organic lines and raised motifs of stylized leaves and berry clusters—hallmarks of the Art Nouveau style. The lid is topped with a sculpted finial that echoes the naturalistic theme, while the whole piece stands on a square, stepped base. Two gracefully curved handles with understated decorative accents complete the form. The construction is solid, with visible, well-integrated seams. The overall condition is good, showing minor surface wear, patina, and light traces of use consistent with its age, yet without notable damage or repairs. The sugar bowl retains its authentic period details and original finish. This vessel carries the quiet voice of Polish Secession, a time when artistry and nature met in a harmonious aesthetic dialogue. Its form appears to flow, the silvery surface bearing a gentle patina that hints at the passage of time and the domestic rituals it once accompanied. The organic ornamentation invites the eye on a gentle dance of line and light, conjuring the spirit of a fin-de-siècle era where every detail reflected the hand of a skilled artisan. The sugar bowl may join a classic tea service atop an oak table, where its Art Nouveau motifs pair well with porcelain featuring geometric or subtle decorations, or with glassware cut in delicate patterns. It could be displayed alongside other period metal tableware, or used as a singular collector's accent in an eclectic interior. It would suit a dining room styled after the early 20th century, or bring a sense of crafted heritage to a contemporary setting.
