ABOUT PRODUCTID 38281
The 'Ida' sugar bowl is a design by Wincenty Potacki, produced by Ćmielów Porcelain Factory in 1962. Crafted from porcelain in a deep, cool-toned violet with a smooth, glossy finish, it features a distinctive conical form widening towards the top. The white band along the rim and the delicately gilded detailing accentuate the vessel’s upper edge and the triangular handle on the lid, which echoes the gold motif. The lower section is adorned with vertical, elongated white ovals, adding rhythm and a sense of lightness to the composition. The underside bears the 'Ćmielów made in Poland' mark, assuring authenticity and provenance. All decorative elements are original, and the porcelain surface shows no signs of wear or damage. Preserved in very good condition, with no visible traces of use or restoration. This sugar bowl embodies the spirit of Polish modernism of the 1960s—a period when geometry, bold color, and subtle detailing set new standards for everyday objects. Potacki’s design strikes a balance between function and ornament, with violet porcelain and gilded accents introducing a festive undertone to the setting. Each detail reflects a search for harmony: the recurring white ovals recall the ritual of daily gatherings, while the gleaming surface catches the light, evoking the convivial moments of coffee shared. The 'Ida' sugar bowl can be paired with matching cups and teapot from the same service to create a cohesive, collectible set for the living room or dining table. It may be combined with minimalist modern dinnerware in neutral tones to highlight its bold color and geometric form. In mid-century modern settings, it harmonizes with teak or walnut furniture and simple glassware; in more eclectic interiors, it is worth pairing with other Polish porcelain from
