ABOUT PRODUCTID 20629
This early 20th-century sugar scoop spoon, produced by the Warsaw metalworks Fraget, is a representative example of historicist craftsmanship inspired by the Egyptian Revival trend. Its form is defined by a wide, deep bowl with a glossy, silvery surface and a gilded interior. The handle is richly adorned with linear and geometric motifs, culminating in a sculpted head of a pharaoh or a figure from ancient Egyptian iconography. Subtle ribbing along the length and crisp reliefs highlight the attention to detail. Made from white brass, silver-plated, the spoon is solidly constructed with seamless transitions and no visible joints. Its proportions—14 cm in length, 4.5 cm in width, 3 cm in height—provide practical comfort in use. The condition is very good, with only minor surface scratches and gentle patina typical for its age, without significant damage or repairs; all decorative elements are original and well-preserved.The form of this spoon echoes an era when fascination with ancient Egypt intertwined with Europe's passion for historicist references and exotic motifs. The smooth metal surface reflects light like the waters of the Nile, while the sculpted pharaoh's head evokes the spirit of early 20th-century archaeological discoveries. Every element—from the subtle ribbing to the gilded bowl—tells of a time when everyday objects aspired to be not only functional tools but also vessels of artistic inspiration. This type of spoon could be placed alongside a classic porcelain sugar bowl, complementing white tableware and silver accessories in an Art Deco or Secessionist setting. It can be paired with other items featuring bold detailing—such as a crystal dish or enameled tray—to accentuate its historic character. It would work well in both vintage-inspired collector's arrangements and in a contemporary kitchen,
