This vase, designed by Ivo Rozsypal and crafted at the Exbor glassworks in Czechoslovakia during the 1980s, exemplifies late modernist Czech art glass. Its form is a precisely shaped cuboid with sharply polished edges and a smooth, mirror-like surface. The vessel's interior features a semi-transparent amber core encased within a thick layer of clear glass, intensifying the optical depth and visual play. The lower section is enriched with irregular, marbled inclusions in ochre, sandy beige, and deep navy, forming a mineral, stratified pattern. The juxtaposition of strict geometry and organic interior motifs highlights the modernist intent of the design. The Exbor signature on the base attests to its authenticity. The vase is preserved in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or visible signs of use.This object speaks in the voice of the late 1980s, when Czech glass designers explored the boundaries of material and light.
