This Biedermeier table bell, dating from circa 1860-1880, is crafted from brass with a layer of silver plating, giving it a cool, silvery hue with a subtle warm undertone characteristic of aged silver. The bell’s form is defined by simple, harmonious proportions: a slender, fluted handle tapers elegantly to a rounded finial, while the body of the bell, measuring 6.6 cm in diameter, flares gently and is divided into vertical, lightly faceted panels that reflect the light. The surface features a delicate hammered texture, and the junction between handle and bell is marked by a visible collar—both testaments to 19th-century craftsmanship. The interior retains its original, complete clapper, ensuring the bell remains both decorative and fully functional. The piece is preserved in very good condition, with no visible dents or damage; only minor traces of patina and age can be seen, consistent with its material and era.
