ABOUT PRODUCTID 6414
Model 1630 is a table lamp designed by Josef Hůrka for Napako in the 1950s, produced in Kamenický Šenov, Czechoslovakia. Its construction centers on a cylindrical base made of highly polished, chrome-plated steel, forming a striking, mirror-like accent. The shade is a semi-oval, asymmetrical dome crafted from lacquered steel—matte, dark graphite or black on the exterior, with a light interior finish to optimize light reflection. The lamp is defined by minimalist lines and strict geometry, hallmarks of Central European mid-century modernism. Functional details include an exposed E14 bulb, a white cord, and a period-typical white plastic switch. Metalwork is precise, with visible screw connections reinforcing the industrial impression. The lamp is in good vintage condition, showing minor scratches on the lacquered surface, with no significant damage or heavy wear. Through its form and materials, the lamp tells the story of the 1950s, when Central European designers sought new expressions of modernity. The chrome base reflects light and surroundings with distinction, as if capturing the energy of a postwar era where simplicity was a statement of progress.
