This Art Deco bedside lamp from the 1930s, produced in Kraków by Spółdzielnia Pracy Metal, showcases the era’s characteristic interplay of materials and streamlined forms. The base is crafted from mahogany-veneered wood with a semi-gloss finish and visible grain, adding a warm, medium-brown nuance. A gently arched, nickel-plated steel arm with a satin surface sweeps up to the spherical, creamy-yellow layered glass shade, which softly diffuses light. The base features a small, conical white switch with a red tip—a subtle yet distinctive color accent. The construction is completed by a brass socket with a ceramic collar, accepting contemporary E27 bulbs. The lamp is in very good vintage condition, with only minimal traces of wear on the wood and metal; the electrical wiring has been replaced and is fully functional. The lamp echoes the voice of Polish Art Deco from the 1930s: flowing contours, balanced symmetry, and a dialogue of materials in which glass, metal, and wood harmonize. The spherical shade evokes memories of interwar city nights, while the satin finish of the arm gently reflects its surroundings, maintaining compositional discipline. The small red detail on the switch recalls a time when even functional elements could become decorative, and the piece as a whole tells a story of an era when light was given its own stage. The lamp can be placed on a nightstand in a bedroom styled in the spirit of the 1920s or
