ABOUT PRODUCTID 29603
This table lamp, designed by Carl Fagerlund for Orrefors in the 1960s, embodies the essence of Scandinavian mid-century modern design. Its structure is composed of three thick, hexagonal blue glass prisms, each separated by slim brass cylinders with a matte, golden finish. The glass exhibits a vivid, cool-toned blue color and a glossy surface that enhances its depth and clarity. The proportions are compact and geometric, forming a visually balanced column. The lamp is wired with a white cord featuring a visible on/off switch. Please note that the white conical lampshade shown in the photos is not included in the sale. The piece is in very good vintage condition, with no visible chips, cracks, or significant wear to the glass or brass.
The form of this lamp tells a story of Northern modernism: restrained elegance that merges function and aesthetics. The blue glass seems to evoke Swedish fjords and the depths of Scandinavian lakes, while the golden brass accents introduce subtle warmth, reminiscent of the northern aurora. Though modest in size, the lamp suggests stability and clarity of vision—as if it speaks: “I am a creation of an era that valued light, pure form, and refined simplicity.”
This lamp can be placed on a low sideboard or a contemporary bedside table, where its geometric silhouette becomes a strong compositional accent. It works well paired with light wood furniture, white or grey textiles, and graphic art in minimalist frames. Interiors with a mid-century modern spirit, Scandinavian living rooms,
