ABOUT PRODUCTID 42136
This 1990s table lamp is a striking example of decorative design from the era, crafted entirely from glossy glazed ceramic. The central motif features three stylized dolphins leaping dynamically from ocean waves, encircling a milky white glass globe that serves as the light source. The color palette is a cool blue gradient, transitioning from a deep shade on the dolphins' backs to an almost white tone at the base, accented with gold details on the dolphins' snouts, fins, and tails as well as select wave crests. The piece forms a sculptural, cohesive whole with smooth, flowing lines and well-balanced proportions (height 22 cm, width 23 cm, depth 10 cm). The lamp is preserved in very good condition, with no visible damage or signs of wear; the glaze remains vivid and unblemished, and the gold accents are well-defined and unfaded. The spirit of the 1990s resonates in this lamp, where nostalgia for retro forms intertwines with bold, almost theatrical expression. The dolphins, captured in lustrous ceramic, evoke the mood of homegrown fantasy and pop culture, while the gold highlights shimmer like sunlight on the ocean's surface. This object, reminiscent of a seaside souvenir or a playful nod to the space age, invites a sense of imagination, infusing interiors with a mood of carefree playfulness in form and color. The lamp can be paired with chromed accessories, glass, or furniture with geometric lines to emphasize its retro character. It works well in eclectic, vintage, or space age-inspired interiors, where it may serve as a counterpoint to simple, modern surfaces. Placing it as a decorative accent on a sideboard, console, or small table surrounded by colorful textiles and collectible items from the 1960s and 1970s will highlight its whimsical, sculptural silhouette and allow the soft light from the globe to diffuse throughout the space
