This illuminated globe lamp from Scan Globe, manufactured in Denmark in the early 1970s, is a precise example of mid-century Scandinavian design dedicated to knowledge and daily functionality. The semi-gloss globe surface displays vibrant, saturated blue oceans contrasted with warm landmasses in shades of yellow, beige, and green, with clear topographical relief. The solid teakwood base reveals a visible, lively grain with a satin finish, while the meridian, most likely made of brass, is finished in a deep, matte brown and features engraved degree markers for added detail. Connection points, such as the joint between globe and base, incorporate polished brass elements for a subtle retro accent. The lamp operates with a single E14 bulb and is powered by a discreet white cord set against the darker base. Its compact proportions (height 40 cm, width 30 cm) reflect the harmonious, compact forms typical of table lamps from the mid-century modern period. Condition is very good, with only gentle print fading and slight patina on the metal
