ABOUT PRODUCTID 9774
This brass table lamp, designed by Bent Karlby for Danish manufacturer Lyfa in 1956, exemplifies mid-century Scandinavian design. The lamp features a wide, conical shade crafted from polished brass in a warm golden hue, punctuated by a row of vertical perforations near the edge that both diffuse light and add a subtle decorative accent. The slender stem, also in brass, is wrapped with stacked wooden rings in a reddish-brown tone, creating a tactile and visual contrast to the metal. Its flat, circular brass base anchors the balanced proportions, while the carefully finished surfaces—mirror-polished metal, smooth wood—testify to the refined craftsmanship characteristic of Danish production in this era. The lamp is equipped with a new, black fabric-covered twisted cord, and a small, round metal switch on the base. Condition: fully restored, with no visible dents or scratches, minimal signs of use, polished brass surfaces, and well-preserved
