The 'Granny' table lamp, produced by the Danish glassworks Holmegaard in the 1960s, is a representative example of mid-century modern craftsmanship. Its base is crafted from hand-blown glass in a deep, warm brown hue with a high-gloss, almost mirror-like surface. The design features sculptural, architectural forms: a faceted, columnar stem, a distinctly rounded collar, and a wide, stable foot. The lamp is topped with a contemporary cylindrical lampshade in a muted taupe fabric with a subtle woven texture and matte finish, finished with a dark trim at the top and bottom. The overall proportions are tall and slender, with the shade forming a visually dominant element. The lamp is fitted with an E27 bulb socket and a cord switch for added functionality.
