This table lamp, produced by Stilnovo in Italy during the 1950s, exemplifies the mid-century modern aesthetic with its organic, asymmetrical silhouette and balanced proportions. The teardrop-shaped shade is crafted from glossy, ivory-toned glass, adorned with evenly spaced gold circles. The top of the shade features a matte black cap and a golden metal ring, while the base—made of satin-finish brass—has a rounded triangular shape with a black inlay. The lamp’s arm is a single, elegantly curved brass tube, ending in a decorative brass sphere. It is equipped with a practical up-and-down adjustable shade, and the white rotary switch is mounted conveniently on the base. All elements are precisely assembled, with visible brass fittings attesting to the high level of Italian postwar craftsmanship. The condition is very good: minor wear to the gold circles on the shade is consistent with age, with no structural damage or signs of restoration
