This 1970s table lamp, produced by the Italian manufacturer Mazzega, exemplifies mid-century modern and space-age design. The structure is based on massive, opaline white Murano glass forming a spherical upper section and a bowl-shaped lower base, separated by a chromed metal band that acts as both decorative accent and structural connector. Chrome also appears on the lower part of the base, introducing a cool, metallic counterpoint to the soft white glass. The lamp stands on a rounded pedestal, and is finished with a high-gloss surface and subtle milky translucency. Its proportions are balanced, with clean, geometric lines—hallmarks of 1970s Italian craftsmanship. The lamp is equipped with a standard E14 socket. Condition: very good vintage, with minor patina and small surface marks on the chrome, no cracks or chips to the glass. In both form and material, the lamp tells the story of an era when futuristic vision met Venetian glass artistry. The opaline glass seems to capture light within, diffusing it gently across the surface like the morning haze over a lagoon.
