ABOUT PRODUCTID 29709
This large table lamp from the 1960s, designed by Barovier & Toso, is a refined example of Italian craftsmanship from the mid-century era. Its base is crafted from high-quality, hand-blown Murano glass in a milky white, slightly translucent tone with a subtle glossy finish. The harmonious form transitions from a rounded, substantial lower section to an elongated neck gently flaring at the top, all supported by a circular glass foot for stability and balanced proportions. Discreet metal fittings at the top complement the overall aesthetic. Measuring 57 cm in height (without lampshade) and 17 cm in diameter at the base, the lamp asserts its presence while maintaining visual lightness. The lamp is sold without the lampshade shown in the images. The original manufacturer’s signature is present at the base. Condition: excellent vintage – no visible wear, chips, or cracks.
The lamp’s form reflects the spirit of Italian modernism, where artisanal skill merges with artistic freedom. The smooth, luminous glass surface softly reflects light, evoking the elegance of the 1960s. Its balanced silhouette and organic lines capture the era’s ethos: a time when light and material worked in harmony, and every detail was a conversation between Murano tradition and contemporary design thinking.
This lamp may be placed atop a veneered walnut sideboard or a minimalist console to emphasize its sculptural base and subtle glass sheen. It
