This mushroom table lamp by Peill & Putzler is an example of 1970s German design, rooted in the Space Age movement with clear references to mid-century modern aesthetics. The construction features a wide, hand-blown glass shade in a vivid orange hue, accented by irregular touches of yellow, green, and brown that form organic, cell-like patterns. The glass surface is gently undulating, with visible air bubbles and inclusions that attest to the artisanal character of the piece. The shade is mounted on a slender, cylindrical brass stem and a wide, round base with a satin finish, showing discreet patina and minimal traces of use.
