ABOUT PRODUCTID 1997
This table lamp from the 1960s, crafted by the Żaczek Student Cooperative in Kraków, represents Polish New Look design. The base, made of warm, medium-toned walnut wood with a semi-gloss finish, features a bulbous, geometric body accented by evenly spaced round metal appliqués. The lamp stands on three splayed, tapered wooden legs, each finished with a brass-colored metal cap that is slightly darker than the main body, creating a gentle contrast. The new textile lampshade in ecru, with a matte surface and classic conical shape, complements the composition. The lamp’s proportions are compact—30 cm in height with the shade, 20 cm without, and 15 cm in width. The electrical system has been replaced for safety, the lamp is designed for an E27 bulb and is sold without a bulb. It is preserved in very good condition, with no visible damage or signs of heavy use. This piece evokes an era when 1960s Polish craftsmanship combined modernity with a subtle playfulness in form. The lamp’s body, adorned with metal accents, recalls the era’s fascination with atomic-age motifs and geometric lightness. The slender, splayed legs capture the spirit of optimism
