ABOUT PRODUCTID 6464
This table lamp, designed by Stephan Tabera for OPP Jihlava in 1970s Czechoslovakia, is crafted entirely from molded, layered glass in a vivid, high-gloss orange finish. Its organic silhouette—broad and rounded, tapering gracefully toward the center—rests on a circular base accented by a subtle gold-toned ring. The smooth, uninterrupted glass surface, free from patterns or ornamentation, showcases the saturated color and sculptural lines. The lamp is fitted with its original cream-colored cord and an E27 bulb socket. It measures 35 cm in height, 30 cm in width, and weighs 3 kg. Preserved in very good vintage condition, the glass surface is even and well-maintained with no visible damage, while the base shows only minimal signs of age. This lamp speaks in the language of the 1970s, when Czech design embraced bold colors and forward-looking forms. The orange glass seems to radiate an inner energy, evoking the optimistic spirit of the space age. Its mushroom-like, glossy shape conjures images of interiors suffused with color and light, where the glow plays across curved surfaces and evenings take on a cinematic quality. The lamp can be paired with furniture featuring the clean, geometric lines of mid-century modern style—think low, light wood sideboards or classic era armchairs.
