ABOUT PRODUCTID 36938
The Panthella table lamp, designed by Verner Panton for Louis Poulsen in Denmark during the 1970s, is an emblematic example of Scandinavian modernism with distinct space-age influences. Its organic, tulip-like silhouette is defined by a wide, rounded base and a slender, gently flaring stem that seamlessly supports the large hemispherical shade. The entire lamp is executed in cool, neutral white – the shade features a high-gloss, mirror-like finish that contrasts subtly with the soft, matte or satin surface of the base and stem. A small, chrome sphere at the top of the shade serves as a discreet, futuristic accent. The lamp is crafted from molded plastic (shade) and metal with chrome details (base and stem), with proportions that remain perfectly balanced. The lamp is in excellent condition, with no visible signs of wear, discoloration, or restoration.Panthella tells the story of the 1970s, an era when design was inspired by dreams of the future and the excitement of space exploration.
