This Space Age table lamp, produced in East Germany in the 1970s, exemplifies the bold design language of an era captivated by visions of the future. The base is constructed from seven glossy, intensely red lacquered wooden discs, each separated by polished chrome spacers, forming a rhythmic, vertical column. The lamp stands on a wide, rounded red plinth, accented by a central chrome detail. It is crowned with a large, spherical shade made of matte opal glass, which provides soft, evenly diffused illumination. The color palette is dominated by vibrant red and chrome silver, contrasted with the milky white of the glass. The finishes are glossy on wood and metal, with the glass remaining matte. The construction is preserved in very good vintage condition—there is natural patina on the metal elements, and the glass is free from cracks or chips. The underside of the base is marked with the production number 'GT 3584.'
