ABOUT PRODUCTID 16577
This 1970s table lamp produced in Germany features a distinctive bubble glass globe, with countless trapped air bubbles that gently diffuse the light. The smooth, glossy sphere sits atop a sculptural tripod base made of white plastic with a matte or satin finish. Its minimalist, three-legged construction encapsulates the futuristic optimism of the Space Age; the geometric interplay between the round globe and circular base echoes the era’s fascination with new materials and technological innovation. Inside the shade, a black E27 bulb socket and mounting elements are partially visible through the glass, emphasizing the honesty of construction. The white power cord emerges discreetly from the side of the base. There are no unnecessary embellishments – only pure, purposeful form, aligned with the clarity inherent to late 1960s and early 1970s design. The lamp has been preserved in very good original condition, with only minor traces of age or patina on technical components. The lamp’s form narrates the story of a period where cosmic aspirations and glass innovation mingled in daily life. Bubble glass scatters light like a nebula, each air bubble forming tiny points of reflection and patterning subtle shadows across adjacent surfaces. The composition alludes to the era’s daydreams
