This glass table lamp was crafted in the 1960s by Belgium’s renowned Val St Lambert manufactory. The substantial base is made from solid, hand-shaped cased glass with a striking gradient: deep ruby red at the bottom transitions into near transparency at the upper sections and edges. The highly polished, mirror-like surface reflects light, while dynamic, organic contours interplay with the geometric fluting that typifies mid-century modern design. Sculptural, star-shaped feet lend visual lightness. The shade is of plain, matte white textile in a gently tapering conical form, attached directly to the E27 bulb socket. The brass-toned electric cord complements the overall composition. The lamp is preserved in very good vintage condition, with no visible damage and only minimal, almost imperceptible traces of use.
