ABOUT PRODUCTID 6676
This table lamp by Val St Lambert, dating from the 1960s, exemplifies Belgian glass artistry in the mid-century modern tradition. The base is crafted from substantial, hand-shaped glass, featuring a dynamic, twisted silhouette with a seamless color gradient: a deep ruby red at the bottom fading into clear transparency toward the top. The glass surface is highly polished and mirror-like, allowing light to reflect in a striking manner. The form is elongated and organic, with a wide, stable base (13 × 9 cm) and pronounced sculpted ridges that emphasize its sculptural presence. The lamp is topped with a simple conical shade in matte white fabric, with a diameter of 25 cm. A cream-colored cord with a traditional inline switch completes the composition. The lamp is fitted with an E27 socket and retains all original components. Condition is very good, with no chips, cracks, or visible signs of wear to the glass, shade, or cord. The lamp's form captures the optimism of the 1960s, a period when Belgian glassmakers boldly explored color and light. The ruby red fading into transparency evokes the slow disappearance of daylight or evening reflections on glass surfaces. The sculpted base, reminiscent of a frozen wave or a twisted ribbon of light
