ABOUT PRODUCTID 5560
This tall mahogany veneered chest of drawers from Northern Europe, dating to circa 1860, embodies the mature Biedermeier style. The piece features a deep, warm reddish-brown hue, with a polished, glossy finish that accentuates the natural grain and flame pattern of the mahogany veneer. Its vertical, symmetrical form is defined by a gently curved front, framed by two prominent, spiral-carved pilasters that emphasize the columnar character. The solid, rectangular base houses a single lower drawer with a brass escutcheon, while the upper section is crowned with a rounded cornice, finished in high gloss. Brass fittings—including small round knobs and keyhole escutcheons—provide a subtle yet refined contrast to the dark wood. The interior offers wooden shelves, enhancing the piece's storage capacity and practicality. Constructed on a softwood carcase, every joint and detail is finely executed and tightly assembled. The commode is in excellent condition, having undergone professional restoration, with no visible signs of wear. This chest of drawers channels the spirit of Northern European Biedermeier: a period
