ABOUT PRODUCTID 22338
This tea strainer, crafted in Russia in the 1920s, features a compact, cylindrical form reminiscent of a small bucket, with a slightly flared rim. Made from 875 silver, as indicated by the Soviet state hallmark, the exterior has a cool, matte, brushed finish, while the interior reveals a warm, glossy gilded surface. The bottom is pierced with regular holes for effective tea brewing. The outer wall is adorned with a subtle engraved floral motif, characteristic of late Art Nouveau and early Art Deco styles. The handle consists of a simple metal wire, attached with visible rivets, and the original clip allows secure attachment to a teapot spout. The craftsmanship is precise, with clean joints and well-executed engraving, demonstrating the handwork typical of the era. The item is in very good condition, with no visible damage or repairs, and only minor surface marks consistent with age.In its modest form, the strainer echoes the spirit of the 1920s—a time when everyday objects reflected decorative artistry, and the interplay of silver and gold spoke of a fondness for refined rituals.
