ABOUT PRODUCTID 21960
This teapot from the modernist 'Łódź' coffee set was designed by Andrzej Szadkowski in 1979 and produced by the Resovia factory in Rzeszów, Poland. Its construction is based on a perfectly spherical body, crafted from high-gloss, silver-toned brass-plated metal. The striking, angular rectangular handle and sharply conical spout introduce a sculptural, geometric rhythm, while the domed lid with a small round knob maintains a cohesive, minimalist aesthetic. The teapot’s surface is smooth and mirror-like, with only subtle marks of use appropriate for its age and no visible dents or repairs. All elements are made from the same material, reinforcing the sense of unity and modernist discipline. The overall condition is very good. This piece echoes the voice of late Eastern European modernism: its clean lines and bold geometry highlight the gravitas of the material, while the silvery sheen catches and reflects the light like a tranquil river surface. Its minimal detailing is not austerity, but an elegant pursuit of order that defined Polish design at the close of the 1970s. Every element, from the angular handle to the compact body, speaks of a quest for functional simplicity and formal courage. The teapot can be paired with other metal or ceramic pieces featuring pronounced forms to accentuate its modernist heritage. It will work well against a backdrop of dark wood or matte surfaces, alongside objects with contrasting textures—such as stoneware or glass. It is worth combining with minimalist kitchen accessories or integrating into a mid-century modern collector’s setting, where geometric simplicity finds its ideal context.Height: 13
