The WMF Cromargan® toast rack from the 1950s, designed by Wilhelm Wagenfeld, is an exemplary piece of utilitarian German modernism. Crafted from WMF’s patented Cromargan® 18/10 stainless steel, it features a cool, silvery metallic hue with a mirror-like sheen. Eight softly rounded arches are set on an elongated, flat base, creating a functional and geometric arrangement typical of mid-century modern aesthetics. Its proportions are balanced and harmonious, the surface is smooth and highly reflective, with no visible texture beyond the natural polish of the metal.
