ABOUT PRODUCTID 19818
This mid-19th-century eclectic toothpick holder, produced by the Warsaw-based Henniger & Co. manufactory, is distinguished by its cylindrical form set atop a solid stepped base. Crafted from brass and silver-plated, the surface features a matte finish with gentle oxidized patination, resulting in an aged silver tone delicately warmed by underlying brass visible in areas of subtle wear. The main body is richly ornamented using the guilloche technique, with decorative volutes, stylized foliage, and two prominent rabbit motifs facing a centrally positioned heraldic cartouche, originally left blank for the engraving of a monogram or initials. Both the upper and lower borders are accentuated by repetitive floral and linear decorative bands. The holder's harmonious proportions and tactile interplay of finely engraved textures and satin-smooth edges exemplify the craftsmanship of mid-19th-century Warsaw.
