ABOUT PRODUCTID 37557
This round tray from the early 20th century, shaped by the geometric language of the Viennese Secession, combines glazed ceramic with brass and copper. Its central ceramic insert is hand-painted and glazed, featuring a large, stylized floral rosette with cream-white petals and a yellow center, set against a background that transitions from deep navy at the rim to lighter blue near the center. The glossy ceramic surface enhances the vibrancy of the colors, while the wide copper rim provides a warm, reddish metallic sheen that harmonizes with the muted, matte gold tone of the brass handles. The rim is decorated with regular, geometric motifs in white and yellow enamel, and the handles—architecturally inspired with openwork geometric cut-outs and square accents—reflect early modernist influences. Visible, precise rivets and clean joints attest to the quality of craftsmanship. The overall proportions, with a wide rim and prominent handles, create a strong, symmetrical presence. The tray remains in very good condition: no damage to the ceramic, only minimal patina on the metal elements,
